Message From The Chairman

I am amazed that what started as a simple song has gone on to become an unprecedented anti terrorism movement.

The inspiration for the song came from my children who were tired at the way a minority of misguided young people were vehemently putting forward a message of radicalization and terrorism that was at odds with what the majority of Muslims believe. It was time to re-address the imbalance, and from the smallest child to the oldest person, Yeh Hum Naheen sought to give a voice to the voiceless.

I was truly humbled by the number of people who have wanted to be involved in the project. From world icons such as Muhammad Ali to the nameless masses, the fact that so many people feel the same way has led to the setting up of the Yeh Hum Naheen Foundation, which seeks to bring this message of tolerance, communication, and harmony to a wider audience.

The objective of the Yeh Hum Naheen foundation is to build on the essence of Islam as a faith that promotes tolerance, peace and harmony removing prejudices within the community and amongst non-Muslims around the world.

It is all too easy to hold faceless agencies or foreign hands responsible for the rise in terrorism in Pakistan, but for me simply finding someone else to blame is not the way to resolve this problem. The fact remains that the perpetrators of these heinous acts are from amongst us. It has become not only the civil but also the religious responsibility of each individual to ensure that nobody from our family, our friends, our neighborhoods, our schools or our colleges gets sucked into committing these acts.

The foundation is totally unconnected to any political party nor will it accept donations from any government. The power to stop these atrocities lies with us, the people not at the door of politicians or government. It is up to us to root these people out and let them know in the strongest possible way that what they do, they do not do in our name. Terrorism is nothing more than Murder and in Islam Murder is Haram

My father, Sultan Mahmood was an inspiration to a whole generation of readers. His writings always talked about tolerance and peaceful co-existence. This foundation is my humble way of carrying on his legacy.

This is exactly what I have been saying all along. Pakistan which has its foundation on Islam HAS to be a tolerant society where everyone including minorities can feel safe & free. It is the responsibility of the society and all individuals that this foundation is preserved in accordance to Jinnah's vision. Hence, all intolerance must be rejected vehmently either in the name of Islam or not.

You are very true but these questions will discouraging their efforts at least they are taking sum steps towards; "Stop terrorism"????be constrictive we must stand shoulder to shoulder and support these types of organization. We are not talking only about America we have to show it to all over the world that Muslim/Pakistanis are not an symbol of terrorism that's all so rather be destructive be construtive.

Can u tell me that America is the only one who gives us title that Pakistan is an terrorist county?no dear where ever u go in Europe they will treat u with hatred behavior and even in some Asian countries like India our image is the same.
We have to show it up to all the world not to any specific one. our message should be for everyone.

Do we have to beg those who label us as terrorists, Why can't we come together ans stop the madness and sit like good Muslims and solve our differences by honest, open and healthy discussion based on Islamic rules.

why do we have to as Muslims call on others, attack each other and what do we achieve by this. what would be the end result.

Why our Islamic countries union that has meetings from time to time has no teeth and cannot bring us together the way Europe is?

Why is that that we have to sing songs to tell others that we are no what they think we are. is there a better way to put our point across?
