Why Kashmir so called "freedom fighting" will die.
Here's some proof why nobody these days wants any new territories carved or created independently and even pakistan supports the same.
Sri Lanka: LTTE who fought a really open and bitter battle in Sri Lanka for close to 3 decades and even had an army, navy and airforce among other things have finally been quelled partly with Chinese and Pakistani help (Indian help couldn't be given because Tamils were also in India, so it would be quite tricky).
So when Pakistan doesn't want self determination of an ethnic minority in a neighbouring country and is willing to go to an;y lengths to quell the same, how can it expect that Kashmir where fighting has erupted only recently (and that too on a terrorist scale infiltrations primarily supported across the border by Pakistan) to have a settlement in pakistan's favour. It smacks of naivity in Pakistan's side and a blatant disregard for other minorities. If the tamil tigers' rebels can be crushed - who were far more powerful than what the weak paki-backed kashmiri mujahiddeen can muster - then surely the terrorism in Kashmir can one day be subdued too. One only has to remember Khalistan and how big it was in the 80s and where it is today.
Bleeding india by a 1000 cuts is all nice on paper, but India isn't Israel, there are a lot more where the people who fight for India come from. It's a nation of billion plus and growing and personally I don't think these cuts are going to matter at all.
I think the matter of Indian kashmir remaining with India was long drawn after the events of the disastrous 1971 war and the '72 shimla agreement which all but said that the ceasefire line was the de facto international boundary.
Pakistanis can argue and fight over kashmir, but the fact is militarily no solution can be found for kashmir, as kargil also proved that Pakistani army has to learn a lot in fighting a war, that mere tactical brilliance on the battlefield doesn't guarantee victory, but political and strategic undercurrents play a far, far greater role in resolving a conflict.

Coffin scam: CBI files case against Army officers, U.S.-based firm
Special Correspondent
Officials booked for criminal conspiracy, cheating under Indian Penal Code
# Case also registered under Prevention of Corruption Act
# Suspected officials entered into contract with company to import caskets, body bags at exorbitant rate
# Caskets were faultily made, Government losses were $ 1,87,000
NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday registered a case against three senior Army officials and a U.S.-based casket vendor in connection with the alleged bungling in the purchase of caskets and body bags for the Army during the Kargil conflict.
The case was registered against Major-General (retd.) Arun Roye, the then Military Attache in the Indian embassy in the U.S., Director Colonel S. K. Malik and Joint-Director Colonel Fateh Bahadur Singh, and Buitron and Baiza, the U.S.-based firm, a CBI spokesperson said here.
The CBI booked these officials based on the prima facie disclosure of commission of cognizable offences punishable under Sections 120 (B) (Criminal Conspiracy) 420 (Cheating) under the IPC and under 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act.
Exorbitant rate
The Defence Ministry had imported aluminium caskets and body bags from a U.S.-based funeral service company that the Army would require to transport the mortal remains of soldiers from battlegrounds. The suspected officials entered into a contract during 1999-2000 with the said company to import 500 aluminium caskets and 3000 body bags at an exorbitant rate of $ 2,500 (approximately Rs.1.20 lakh) a casket and $ 85 body bag, flouting established procedures of defence procurement. The contract amounted to $ 15, 05,000.
It was found that the U.S. firm was not a manufacturer, the first lot of 150 caskets supplied was heavier than required by the contract, and were fabricated by welding prone to develop leakages.
Rendered useless
The caskets were rendered useless, causing a loss of $ 1,87,000 (approximately Rs. 89.76 lakh) to the Government. It has also been alleged that similar caskets and body bags were supplied to the U.N. mission in Somalia and to the U.S. Army at $ 172 and $ 27 respectively.
Further, the suspected officers procured the stores, though of a general nature, from a single vendor without paying heed to the cost break-up. While the quantity of stores was increased after the Kargil conflict, the arrival of the first lot was scheduled to a much later date as per agreement entered into by the suspected officials and the U.S. vendor. The suspected officials also tried to modify the specifications to get the supply of sub-standard stores approved and also tried to make the Army utilise the defective caskets.

CBI arrests CRPF DIG in UP 'recruitment scam'
New Delhi/Lucknow The arrest of a Deputy Inspector General of the CRPF following late-night raids on Tuesday has taken the lid off what may be a major recruitment scam in one of the country's premier paramilitary forces.
Along with Vinod Sharma, who was taken into custody after a CBI raid at the CRPF camp in Lucknow and his office, Head Constable B V Choubey of the CBI and a tout, Arvind Kumar, have also been arrested. Choubey, alleged to be involved in the scam, was originally recruited in the CRPF.
CBI officials said that while they suspected Sharma was the mastermind behind the scam, involving recruitment for the post of constables in Uttar Pradesh, they were probing the role of other officials as well. The recruitment of over 1,500 constables for the state started nearly two months ago and the process is still on.
Head Constable Choubey was caught red-handed by the CBI while accepting Rs 90,000 from a "tout" allegedly engaged by him. Officials said they had conducted searches at six locations in Lucknow and recovered large number of slips containing details of prospective candidates.
The CBI carried out the raids after a tip-off from within the CRPF on irregularities in recruitment.
The CBI has registered a case against Sharma and others for running a racket in selection to various posts of constables, including general duty constables, drivers, fitters and other posts in the force. "It was found that the DIG of the CRPF provided information about recruitments and vacancies to his touts, including a Head Constable of the CBI, who was originally recruited in the CRPF and had a network of touts in different districts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and Madhya Pradesh," said CBI spokesperson Harsh Bhal.
After collecting information on recruitment schedules/vacancies, they would contact prospective candidates and promise them selection in lieu of a hefty bribe. "The candidates were asked to make part payment in advance and the rest within seven-eight days of selection. The advance payment of unsuccessful candidates would be refunded after deduction of a token amount," Bhal added.
According to sources, many of the candidates from poor families sold or mortgaged land to pay the bribe.
Pakistan is not the real threat to Indian Forces. Real threat to Indian Forces is HIV / AIDS and Depression

CRPF concerned at rise in HIV cases in force
Tejinder Singh Sodhi
Tribune News Service
Jammu, October 6
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is concerned about the increase in HIV positive cases in the force and is taking steps to educate its men about the disease and providing all units with HIV testing kits.
“The increase in the number of HIV positive cases in the CRPF is a matter of concern which has been discussed at the higher level and we have supplied HIV testing kits to all units of the CRPF.” inspector-general of the CRPF Jammu, J.C. Dabas told The Tribune.
He added, “Testing for HIV has not been made compulsory for everyone in the CRPF and though being voluntary in nature more and more of our men are coming forward for the test.”
The CRPF is hopeful that soon the spread of the disease will be controlled and measures taken to stop it from spreading .
“If the virus is detected at an early stage, we can prevent it from spreading and treatment of the person can be started soon,” he said.
The CRPF is also concerned about the growing stress level and increased suicidal tendencies among CRPF personnel working in insurgency-hit areas.
“Stress level is higher amongst the troops deployed in insurgency-hit areas like, J&K and other Left wing extremism-hit areas, but a study done at the Centre level proved suicidal tendencies in jawans mostly arose due to family-related problems and no due to work ” said Dabas.
Medicalsuperintendent of composite hospital Jammu, the hospital providing referral medical facilities to all paramilitary forces in the state Dr S. K. Das said, “It has been proved stress is not the only reason. A majority of suicides occur after soldiers return from leave.”
The CRPF has taken various steps to de-stress the soldiers and officers. “We, in collaboration with the Art of Living, hold de-stressing classes and regular yoga classes are held to de-stress the jawans,” said Dr Das.
To de-stress the soldiers, regular counselling sessions by CRPF psychiatrists are being held and the CRPF has also liberalised procedures to send men on leave.
“If my men need to go on leave four times a year, we, after making sure the reason given is genuine, allow him to proceed on leave,” said Dabas.
To educate the officers of the force, the CRPF is holding medical officers’ conference of Jammu and Kashmir to discuss important health problems like stress management, hypertension, diabetes, heart attacks and HIV AIDS.
“The main aim of this conference is to control increase in HIV and AIDS cases among CRPF jawans,” said Dabas.
I wonder whether our physically and Mentally unfit, corrupted, Rishvatkhor, undisciplined Indian defense forces can fight Pakistani Army or the Insurgents, Naxalites anymore?
