I would like to get your attention on private and public sector medical and dental colleges running in your and mine dear PAKISTAN.
This is tragedy in our Pakistan that owners of private medical and dental colleges are looting money of Pakistani people and preparing medical and dental doctors who are not upto mark as they should be according to explained standardized guide lines by ministry of health, government of Pakistan or by PMDC.
Owners of these private medical/dental colleges are getting huge money/amount as they can but are not providing services (like trained teaching faculty, laboratory equipment, trained laboratory staff and hostel residence facilities etc) as they promise in written prospectus and verbal communication with parents at the time of admissions of MBBS/BDS students. Students and their parents suffer after admission but remain silent and do not bother to raise their voice against owners of these institutes due to some unexplainable and self-explainable reasons. At least due to this that academic future of their children is under monopolial behavior of these owners.
At the time of PMDC monitoring team visit they hire complete trained faculty and laboratory equipments but after that visit those hired equipments and trained faculty members, trained laboratory staff are starting to reduce, best example of that crucial behavior may be seen in Faisalabad Medical College, Hamdard College of Medicine & dentistry, Sir syed medical college for girls, Mohammad medical college, mirpurkhas, International medical college abbotabad, Jinnah medical college Peshawar, Gandhara medical college, Sardar begum dental college Peshawar, Fatima Jinnah dental college Karachi etc, etc.
There is to show written fee structure in the prospectus of these institutes but it is only for showing, not actual. There are hidden monetary deals to get admission in their institutes. For example prescribed and written fee structure in prospectus is 5 to 6 lac per annum but they collect money (from 15-20 lacs per annum) in the name of trust/welfare/foundation organizations. Owner of Mohammad Medical College, mirpurkhas collect huge money in the name of THARR or DESERT area welfare & development.
There is so called check and balance & vigilance government departments like PMDC, Ministry of health and HEC but these are only for monetary deals with owners of these institutes. Deal is self-explanatory. You can observe and experience.
Owners of private medical/dental colleges hire trained Professors, associate professors, assistant professors and well trained laboratory staff of different departments from medical colleges of the public sector (who use to leave these private institutes due to their permanent service at government sector) on VERY attractive salary packages at the time of admissions to show their standard teaching in the institute but after academic start of the session they reduce the salary package of the trained faculty, well-trained laboratory staff so they loose the faculty and well trained laboratory staff but sufferer are only those students who got admission in the institute. None is the sufferer but mob of students who successfully got admissions. None bother to recognize the teaching problems of these unlucky students. None. Neither parents, nor government of Pakistan.

Very disappointing to hear the condition of Private Medical Colleges in Pakistan.
