WHAT DRESSES SHOULD MEN WEAR
I MEAN JEANS, T SHIRTS ETC

Any dress that covers his "AURAH"(Arabic word) means "sattar posh libbas".For the women there is a "Hijjab"important,to explain the term Hijjab is different in the different societies.To me a man or woman should wear clothes which doesn,t shows their curves.There should be a decency in wearing clothes for both the genders.

any dress which covers the body in such manner that your physical structure is not visible!!!!

I agreed that a muslim should wear a dress which covers his Sattur and his body in order not to b nude looking in sleeveless t-shirts or very tight jeans style clothing.

E.g. Jeans/t-shirts etc where they are common
Shalwar Kamiz etc where they are common

There has been a lot of dispute over what WOMEN should wear and I personally feel that the 'Bori' costume for both men and women suits and complies with all Islamic rules and regulations.

The men wear long kameez and shalwar with a praying cap and a long vest.

The women wear frocks and cover the upper part of their body and their head with a piece of cloth and a scarf respectively.

I read somewhere that the men should wear a kandoora which ends just above the ankles and a shalwar/pajama inside.

While discusing islamic dress code one should not forget that Islam belongs to West as much as East. In Quran Allah says (undersatnding off aayt not meanings) whether you are in East or West have your direction towards Haram/Kaa'ba. Allah is the Lord of East and West. And second most important thing is one should differentiate between what was revealed and what was custom of the time of Prophet SAW. Malaysian goverment has done research on it already and had their verdict on this issue. So, what i want to say is if someone says Islam say to wear shalwar qameez and eastern dresses, is wrong. You can use any dress of as much wealth you can afford, 1. Must not be revealing, 2. Suits the weather (does not give you harm), 3. Suits your gender, 4. suits you as well of course. There is also a quotation in Hadith that says that Rasool SAW banned Resham for muslim men but its not in Quran. As halal and haram are well defined in Quran but it is famous in Muslims that Rasool SAW banned muslim companions to not to wear Resham(silk) and Gold.
