| Stop and quiz comes under fire in UK |
|
UK Government introducing new Law to overcome anti-terrorism.
Proposals to allow police to stop and question anyone in the UK under new anti-terror laws have been criticised.
Opponents warned that plans to ask people about their identity and movements may harm community relations.
Northern Ireland Secretary Peter Hain said care must be taken not to alienate whole communities.
But Home Office minister Tony McNulty said there would be plenty of time for consultation and people should wait to see exactly what the new powers were.
Will you think about this kind of law in UK? Will all Muslims will now suffer from suspicion?
Some Comments:
Sadly with crime spiraling out of control, we have no option but to bring in these powers.
We have tried the softly softly approach and it hasn't worked.
Time to try the hard line approach and win the streets back for the honest citizens.
Andy, Gainsborough
Is this another step in a paranoid government and society, where we trust no-one and blame everyone? Our lives are dictated and run by the government. Law after law, rules after rules, guidline after guildine!! We fear to do anything for fear of being accused of something. What next?
cathy, cheshire

That will be bad, because specially Muslims will be directed infected by this. I think we should realize now that these countries can never belong to us. Even british born Pakistan have less rights then English People, who born in UK. So how you say that they treat all people equally.
I think we should follow the example of china and move like to to succeed in this world. Instead of going to other countries, we should work hard here in our country to make it equavalent to USA, UK and other European countries.
