Shoaib Akhtar playing in IPL or not??

Though the Pakistan Cricket Board has cleared Shoaib Akhtar to play in the Indian Premier League for Kolkata Knight Riders, the controversial fast bowler still cannot play in the Twenty20 League as per the BCCI's recent decision.
"Unless he is cleared to play for Pakistan, he cannot play in the IPL. This was the decision taken by the special general body of the BCCI at Bangalore before the start of the Twenty20 event," informed BCCI sources.

Akhtar's appeal against the five-year ban imposed by the PCB for indiscipline was on Wednesday rejected by a three-member appeal tribunal which, however, said he was free to resume his career overseas.

Farrukh Aftab, Chairman of the appeal tribunal, has said that the temperamental pacer can play in the IPL promoted by the BCCI but cannot play for Pakistan internationally or nationally.

Akhtar was bought for USD 425,000 (approx Rs 1.7 crore) by the Kolkata franchise team owned by Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment.

Shoib ban should be nullified and he should be allowed to play for Pak, National and IPL.

PCB is getting into unnecessary controversy. If Shoaib Akhtar seriously ask for apology, he should be given a chance to play for Pakistan. We are wasting a good talent here ..

I think he is a useless person, all he wants is a media coverage, nothing else. He deserved this treatment.

BCCI's Chief Administrative Officer Prof Ratnakar Shetty also told that the stance on Shoaib Akhtar remains of not letting him play IPL, but today Lalit modi looked like he will give in to pressure from Sharukh Khan after Kolkata Knight riders lost there match with Jaipur, as Shoiab will get his money even if he does not play.

I think its time for us to think beyond Sohaib Akhtar. We need a fast bowler who is consistent.

Shoib Akhtar is match winning bowler. Despite the fact that he is very difficult to manage, he should have been treated better.

Shoiab Akhtar cannot play in the IPL because he is banned for 5 years for using drugs. you can tell from his face he has used it.

I read this in GEO that PCB allowed him to play in IPL. But IPL Chairman told that he is still not able to play until PCB restore him fully in old position and remove his ban. On the other side Shahrukh Khan really want shoaib Akhtar to play for Knight Raiders. I don't know the person i think its Sarfraz Nawaz but he is the old player of Pakistani team told to the news channel. That a secret deal between shahrukh khan and PCB is in process to remove shoaib ban.

I think BBCI is not handling it correctly- if PCB has specifically allowed him to play anywhere in world then what is the point of not letting him to play in IPL-

Indian cricketers should take this matter more seriously and do some efforts to let him play coz it would give another life to IPL
