Sharia Enforcement Package In Malakand In Its Last Phase

Peshawar -- Package for the enforcement of Sharia [Islamic laws] in Malakand, for restoration of peace and for direct access to justice is in the final stage of its preparation and an important meeting has been called today in this regard. Arshad Abdullah, Law Minister will represent the North Western Frontier Province [NWFP] government, while Faruq H Naik , Federal Law Minister will participate from the federal government side.

According to sources, the provincial minister will send the package to Tehrik-e Nifaz-e Shariat-e Muhammadi [TNSM] for [further] deliberations. It will inform the provincial government about its opinion [over the package].

According to sources of the TNSM, it has been made clear to the provincial government from their side that all the suggestions presented by Maulana Sufi Muhammad are practicable and will be acceptable, and [these suggestions] had been given to the former governments time to time. Hence, the provincial government should keep in mind all these suggestions during the preparation of package.

According to sources, after the receipt of these suggestions from the TNSM about said package, provincial government will amend the package with the consultation of federal government. It [package] will be released to media later on.
According to the government sources, the preparation of package is expected on Monday. After this, consultation will be held between different parties over it.
