Inside the KABAA :

There are three pillars inside
There is a small table on the side to put items like perfume and incense burners.
There are two lantern-type lamps hanging from a cross beam near the ceiling
There are no electric lights inside
The interior walls are clad with marble half-way to the roof.
The entire floor is of marble except for a small portion which is called "Rukhamat Humra".
Tablets with Qur'anic inscriptions are inset in the marble.
The top part of the walls is covered with a green cloth decorated with gold embroidered Qur'anic verses.
There are no windows inside
There is only one door
The space can accommodate about 50 people

Black Stone, hajr-e-aswad

The official starting point of the walk around the Kaaba, that forms the core of the holy pilgrimage, is called the hajj. During the Tawaf pilgrims kiss or touch the black stone as they circumambulate the Ka'ba.

Kiswa: the cover of the kaba

A close up of one section of the KIswa, the cloth which covers the Kaba (The House of God) which is in Mecca, Arabia.

15 kilos of solid gold thread is used for the embroidery of the Quranic verses on the kiswa, one of which can be seen here. The total area covered by the kiswa is cover is 658 sq meters and it is made of 670 kgs of pure silk.

The kiswa is replaced every year and the hand here belongs to Fareed, who has been sewing the gold and silver threads into the kiswa for more than 30 years. Throughout history the base colour of the kiswa had differed between green, white and the current black.

It seems that Saudis have painted black stone (Hijre Aswad) coz if you see some of the old pictures (still available on some websites) it has some signs of Allah in it.
