Raheem Shah

A beautifull voice.

Rahim Shah was born on 3rd April 1976 in Karachi. Swat is his ancestral home, but he speaks fluently the native lingo. This was the reason for the dearth of apparent Pashto vision in his life.

He started his career in late 90's as a solo singer with a lot of hits including "Ghum" that broke many records. "Ghum" is not Rahim Shah's personal composition. It is an Afghani folk song or tappa, sung by an anonymous singer. Later famous Pashto singer, Haroon Bacha, also sang it, but the credit goes to Rahim Shah who translated the "tappa" into urdu and gave it his own arrangement.

In a short span of time Rahim has proven his singing talent beyond all questions. He sang "Ghum" under the supervision of "Salman Alvi". He recorded his album and tried to work hard on making it different from what others are churning out. The song turned out to be a huge hit and whosever listened to that song appreciated the touch. Rahim Shah was bitter over the recent plagiatism of his song by Indian singer Altaf Raja. He copied Rahim's song "Ghum" and gained popularity on satellite channels. Eight of his albums have been released till date, of which, four are in Pashto and four in Urdu.

He released a Pashto album "Peera" which was also a big hit. He worked on another album which was titled "Sabaro" that has some of the good numbers to date such as Tap Tap and Payal. Later, he worked on a Pashto album again titled "Medda Medda" the same year. Around this time he took a break and came back with another hit album "Channa". He was working on three videos, two of which includes Priya and Rang Lai Mehndi have been done by Sarwar while Tere Ishq Ne has been directed by Suhail Javed. "Jhoola" is also his favorite song he especially sung this song to his mother. Heloves his mother a lot.

His new 12 track album which has taken a year to produce, will be released by the help of TP Company. He has given the real touch to his arrangements that is why he has used real music in the songs.At this time it is getting too tough to make an album hit without the use of some visual and marketing aids like high budget videos. Rahim Shah said about India's pop music, "There is no doubt that we have got a very good music but Indians have a very good market.

Rahim's favorite singers are Salman Alvi, Nayyara Noor and Asha. He has interest in welfare work but doesn't like to ask for donation. If God willing he will carry out the welfare project from his own pocket. He said about his short hair that "better singer is known by his cheerful/sweet vocals/sound not by his long hair".
