PTV is the oldest and govt finance supported organiaztion of Pakistan. There is no doubt that PTV could deliver much better and most attractive entertainment and current affairs programs.

There was a time that PTV programs were equally popular as old Indian movies had their internatiional market. Almost all the country used to become stand still whenever any serial drama was telecast.

Kiski Nazar Lug gai

PTV first Studio was formed at Lahore in 1962 with the help of Japan government. I remember around 100 TV sets were also given as gift to government of Pakistan. TV make was on old name of Japan.

Then Karachi, Dhaka, Rawalpindi stations were opened.

Present our General Mush has very kindly re-inaugorated PTV a few days before.

What a cheap publicity on an old organization. If Inaugoration Slate having President General Pervez Musharaf name is required to place in PTV buildings, it was better any new industry or Water & Power plant would have inaugorated. Common person of the nation could also benefit.

It is only few weeks before when in one PTV program, government appointed Imam of Lal Masjid since last over 9 years - Maulana Abdul Aziz in Burqa was presented. The way one un-professional, ill mannered and ill-informed person interviewed most respected and liked imam masjid by the residents of G-6 and sorrounding area was noticed by the viewers.

Perhaps this PTV adaa or "great contribution" is the cause that President and Army Chief of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharaf visited personally. Our bureucracy as usual maintaining its traditions got idea of re-inaugoration.

frankly speaking, PTV is the only weapon govt. has to fire media on people, but we must not misunderestimate that PTV is "majboor" and the PTV workers are too afraid of the govt. a word about the costs, ptv is categorised as "mofkhoras!"
