PTCL announces free local calls from 11 pm to 6 am

The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has decided that local calls within the PTCL Fixed Line Network would be made free of charge from Sunday 1st June, 2008 from 11 pm to 6 am, announced Dr. Sadik Al-Jadir, SEVP (Commercial).

In response to customer feedback, PTCL will be increasing the value the Company provides to its valued customers by giving them a seven-hour period everyday when all local calls within the PTCL Network would be free.

PTCL is determined to enhance its relationship with its customers by transferring the benefits of technology and system improvements to them. The free calls every evening from 11 pm to 6 am are a part of the continuous endeavours to provide an ever-increasing value to the consumers.

In keeping with its customer-centric strategy, PTCL has also made a huge investment in the improvement of its communication network to allow customers to experience enhanced voice quality. The real beneficiaries of all PTCL policies are its valued customers.

Dr Sadik Al-Jadir pointed out that PTCL today offers the most competitive call rates in the country. “Our International call rates and Internet dial-up rates are also the lowest in the region and the world. We have also provided a range of Value Added Services such Voice Mail totally free of charge to our customers. PTCL is able to provide such services at very attractive rates since it has the most comprehensive telephone network in the country complemented by the most advanced and comprehensive IP (local, national and International) infrastructure that enables PTCL to offer the best quality Broadband & IPTV services,” Dr Sadik added.

The announcement of PTCL free local calls service is in reply of free on-net calls provided by WorldCall Telecom provided in Karachi and in various parts of Pakistan. However PTCL has made call free from 11pm to 7am but still WorldCall provides free on-net call 24 hours a day. Although it looks like an attempt yo retain PTCL market share.

This Announcement from PTCL of free local calls is a step towards brighter future of Pakistan Telecommunication Company after being privatised. PTCL is getting more and more advanced day by day for competing with the lowest call rates of some international companies working in pakistan. Now PTCL has also offered BroadBand Internet Service to its users upto the speed of 2 Mega Byte.

What is the point of the free local calls from 11 pm to 6 am the next day? Who actually calls during this time. I belive that all over the world local calls are free in return for a nominal montly fee or line rent. why not here in pakistan

yeah, i work all day, and then when finally its time to sleep they shove in a FREE package at that particular time. i am sick and tired of all the communications companies for packages that are free at the time when most of the working class(save students/and ppl who dont work). do i bust my balls at work for this? so that teenies and losers can have love affairs all night long?damn man. this is bullc#$@
