A controversial film Moosa Khan boasts of exotic locales, a taught script and some good music.
Being Shaan's third directorial attempt (the other two were 'Guns and Roses Ik Junoon'
and 'Mujhay Chand Chahihay') he succeeds in making this movie stand out above the usual Pakistani fair,
as was the case with all his previous films it surely was targeted at the masses, hence the script lacks intelligence.
Saima does well with the character she's offered, but her character really asked for someone much younger.
The music by Jawad Ahmed is brilliant - from the very middle eastern 'Lagee Lagee' to the sweet
'Main to Piya ki thi', all the tracks enchant you. However, a better storyline and more
sophisticated special effects would have made the film more engaging.
After months of hype, Shaan's highly awaited labour of love Moosa Khan finally arrived as
the biggest of the season's Eid releases. Shaan had reportedly spared no expense in constructing
his third effort as director - the quest for excellence being top priority. Not only was the critical
expectation sky high but so are the hopes of massive financial gains.
