| LHC moved against NRO-benefited people |
|
LAHORE: A petition has been filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) for action against over 50 politicians and, who took advantage of the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).
The petition filed by Barrister Iqbal Jaffery has made party at least 50 NRO-benefited politicians and bureaucrats and requested the court to assign death sentence for the offence of corruption.
The petitioner opined that the corrupt people siphoned off at least $200 billion and deposited the money at foreign banks, dealing extremely hazardous blow to the national economy.
All such people are not worthy to keep government offices, the petition said beseeching the court for the removal of bureaucrats from their offices.
