Kingston Ontario is a quaint town of 117,000 people, hardly 3 hours from Toronto. It has all the amenities of modern life but without the traffic jams of bigger cities. Queens University is located in Kingston, which is a centre of excellence in many fields. Kingston also has the best hospitals in the whole of Canada. Incidentally, Kingston was the first capital of Canada, before it was moved to Ottawa. Do visit Kingston and enjoy walking around in the historic downtown or take a ferry ride around the world famous 1000 islands.
