EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT JAHEZ IS A BIG PROBLEM IN THE PAKISTANI SOCIETY

HOW CAN THIS BE SOLVED

i think the key to solve this issue is in the hands of Pakistani boys

If they decide that they will not take jahez, the problem would be solved

But practically our boys do not have such courage

practically whats happening is this

generally our boys says that they dont like jahez

but when getting married they accept jahez

under the argument that KIYA KAROON LARKI WALON NEY DE DIYA

ACTUALLY THIS IS THE STAGW WHERE HE SHOULD SAY NO
BUT HE LEAVES EVERYTHING IN THE HANDS OF OTHERS
HE CAN SAY NO IF HE FEELS HIS PRESENCE WITHIN HIS FAMILY

AFTER ALL WHEN HE IS BEING MARRIED HIS OPINION SHOULD CONTAIN VALUE

IN PAKISTANI CULTURE NORMALLY THE OPINION OF THE BOY HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION

AND THE ELDER ONES CONTYINUE WITH THE PRACTICES AS THEY HAVE BEEN GOING ON

In Islam asking of man from Girl Jahez is not only wrong also immoral.In Pakistan all these customs are adopted from India & Hinduism.All the Arabic countries & we Pattan are having that proud system.A man in Islam & in our society pays the "Sharahi Mehr" Dawri to his wife but not tthe other way round.Rest is scrap,inhuman,immoral & prideless customs.We should legally ban it.I cannot imagine a proud man to expect & live on the money which he gets from his inlaws.It means the building & relation is based on Material values,how can it be practical & successfull.

i appreciate that the jahez problem is not present in the pashtoons. its good

however, apart from them, this problem does exist in pakistan

and we should try to find the means and modes of how this can be solved

some practical suggestions please

If every one think that if he has a son & he can extort girl side to give "Jahez" he should also think & deal if he have also daughters than how he will manage.It is all about realisation,to be human & to have consideration for others.If we practically follow Islam & all these religious scholars should highlight & project the Islamic point of view about "Jahez" than it will make it easier for a layman to realise.Extortion,forcing,taking advantage of someone or blackmailing is comletly inhuman & un Islamic.I cannot understand a man having self respect & dignity can stoop that low to ask for "Jahez".Secondly the relation based on material cannot flourish,the respect of that husbaand in his wife eyes,what it If it will be legally banned cannot help because thee people having greedy nature will under the table deal the same way.The best way is to educate & inform the youth & their parrents,how it is forbidden,how immoral it is & which consequences will it bear.The humanbeing is judged through is human feelings & dealings,we should try to be more caring & human.
