| How George Bush would have won |
|
CONTEXT: In year 2003-04 in view of the situation in Iraq, George Bush had repeatedly requested Indian government for Peace Keeping Force. India had dithered and finally refused. Here I want to tell how Bush would have got what he wanted and won Hearts and Minds all over the world.
This is the mail I am desperately trying to send to White House.
Respected Sir,
I failed in my duty. When you were requesting Indian troops for Iraq, it was next to impossible to convince majority of Indians. An idea has occurred to me now. But I hardly need to say it is too late. In 2003 I could have sent mails to American media with the subject line as "How to get Indian Troops". I should have suggested them to come up with arguments DESCRIBING HOW HANDLING KASHMIR IS TOUGHER THAN HANDLING IRAQ. I should have told them to explain that while Kashmir will remain dangerous forever Iraq would cool within a week if they interact with Indian troops and also that it would save many Iraqi lives.
Current Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is an intelligent and polite man. He would have understood your innovative decision. He would have tried to build consensus by setting up a committee of competent experts to COMPARE THE HOSTILITIES OF KASHMIRIS AND IRAQIS. There were some journalists and generals who were prepared to send troops. But their numbers were too small to make impact. What was needed was a ‘clinching argument’, which I have suggested in first paragraph.
Yours truly, A Failed Person
P.S.: Please note, the point is not which is tougher (Iraq or Kashmir). The point is how you would have got Indian troops.

My point is they were so desperate then (they were begging, dying), that they would have taken one small mail from an insignificant source seriously.

Do you know the difference between Iraq's genocide and Iraq's happiness? Four simple words, "Kashmir is more dangerous."
If Bush had uttered this magic line Muqtada-al-Sadr, Osama and Pakistanis would have saluted him. He would have got Nobel Peace Prize.
