haram food list

hey guys there r many people on this forum who live in non-muslim countries so i just want to post some food i know tht have haram things in it and some ingredients tht r not halal...If any one else know of any plzz tell us as it will help us thnx alot...
Doritos/Frito Lay: The cheese contains pork enzymes.

hot cheetos are haram : they have pork enzyemes

Gelatin (Jello Gelatin): Usually of animal origin, mostly from pig.

Magnesium Stearate (stearic acid): Used as an active ingredient in medicine tablets. Haram when derived from animal source.

Mono Glycerides: When derived from animal source. (Halal when the source is plant).

Pepsin: A digestive enzyme mostly from pig stomach.

Rennin (Rennet): A protein Enzyme. Usually not labeled. (In most cheeses).

Shortening: Fats and oils of animal origin. Animal/Lard

dextro: haram when derived from animal but its usual derived from plants.

lecithine:derived from animal and plant. if derived from plant its usual labeled as soy lectine.

guys post any other food or ingredint in food u know of...

Thanks for info...I have a list of all e-numbers that are haram, but unfortuntatly its in norwegian langue..but i found this page in english if anyone wants to see what E-numbers thats is haram or halal..

thank you, but the trouble is you cannot memorise all those E numbers which are haram and then do shoppingg accordingly also you can carry a listof 100s of E numbers and then cross check each ingredient in the product with that list, so I am kind of cornered now; I take care of halal and haram from the main product ingredients, I never went that far to spot which E number is halal or haram :-s

ture Mr .ugwaraich...its hard to remember all these ingredients...but once i asked a customor serivec person and she said kay the best way to identify which product have animal product is tht if alll other products r soy ingredients...its most like dont have any animal product in it...and if there r no soy products present an dit uses common products like just lectos and dextros...so its possible kay it will have animal product in it...

have been recieving a lot of similar mails, but no boy gave any refrence. i think it would be better if you guys put refrence alongwith

If you just search on the internet andgo to reliable websites you can get a list of all the haram foods.

Where did you read it that medicine made from bacteria or fungi are not halal. On which base you declared that haram? Those living things which are halal, how you can declare them haram?
Water always full of fungi and milk always full of bacteria but are halal. So what will you talk about those two main elements of food?

2.@mysteri-girl.
First of all I must say a good post. It'll definitly helm the muslims in Europe and West to choose halal foods. I'm a little disagree with a part of your above reply that I've highlighted already.
A food will be declare haram only if it contains haram ingredients or it contains ingredients of haram animals. If the ingredints belong to halal animals then we can not say it haram. (God knows better) I hope it will help a little to clear the concept of haram and halal.

The ghee that is used in KArahis and other food is also forbidden as it is made from the dead donkeys and other dead animals and gov and people are silent spectator and that is the Ghee known as Khula Ghee in Pakistan and poor people used to buy this ghee for their families is made from illegal and hazardous items.

Mcdonalds is totally haram because chicken and beef is being imported from brazil
Hardees beef is also haram because it is also being imported from brazil
u may correct me if i am wrong but i have confirmed it from authentic sources.
Strongly recommending every1 to avoid these.....thanku
