Hamid Gul Says Zardari Is Sacrificing PPP For His Skin

Lahore -- General [retired] Hamid Gul, former chief of Inter Services Intelligence [ISI], and a distinguished intellectual in his own right, has termed the war in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas [FATA] is purely the US war and said, "Unfortunately, once again we have been involved in the proxy war, and it is the question from the public to the rulers that after arresting, getting killed and handing over our men, still the United States will not be pleased with us. Hence to give response to the United States is a must, and to do this, we should use the power of the Parliament. If the Parliament does not take any action, there is no reason of its existence and the people will be forced to rise to rebellion. The deal, spurning which Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life; today Zardari is sacrificing the PPP for the same deal. He is devastating it. The leadership of the PPP, who are working as instruments of the imperialism, should keep in mind that Bhutto used to talk about the fight of one thousand years and Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for the national interest.''

He was talking to the daily Nawa-e Waqt yesterday. General [retired] Hamid Gul said, ''The operation in the FATA was conducted without anybody taking on the board, purely on the US dictation. It is because the Pentagon has admitted that they are on the run in Afghanistan. Talibans have occupied 60% of the total area. There is nothing left for the puppet government. Hence you should care for yourself. They made Afghanistan an issue in their coming presidential elections and now the Pakistani government and army is again thrown in this fire. They targeted Khyber Agency. There was no resistance. There was not militant active. There were only welfare organizations working for the people. They did not put up any resistance.''
General [retired] Gul made it clear, ''On the one side they say the tribal area is not our responsibility, if is so, why are they so anxious to establish their writ? If they have no government there, and there is no Supreme Court, then leave them. They will deal with the Americans themselves.''

He said, ''We have achieved nothing by becoming fodder of canons in the US war, and have lost everything. For God sake, have a sense. Do not target your own children in the proxy war. We shall be the losers in every case.''

Responding to a question, he said, ''Where this elected Parliament is, and where are the parliamentarians. If they do not cry foul now, and do nothing to halt the operation, they will have to face the public questions with their mouth shut. If the Parliament does not take any action, the people will rise to rebellion.''

He said, ''Our army should act as a national army. It is the unity among the public and the army that can ensure the integrity and survival of the country and can make it to independent, financially and militarily.''

Responding to a question, he said, ''Today the ruling PPP is looking to the United States and Musharraf instead of looking to the people after getting votes. It is following the same policies. The Kashmir cause for which Bhutto had pledged to fight for one thousand years, now Zardari is talking about the joint defense with India. He said, ''It is not a secret now that it was the US pressure in the case of judiciary as well as about the operation, and the government stuck to it. ''

He said, ''When the governments come to the point of compromise, it means that they have come to the point of their exit.''

He said, ''We do not need to fear the United States now. She is herself mired in the internal crises.''

He said, ''Pakistan is a nuclear power; she can not be puppet of any state. We achieved this nuclear power to live with honor and self-respect, not to surrender.''

He said, ''Benazir became immortal by rising against the deal. However, today, Asif Ali Zardari is sacrificing his party to come up to his words over the deal. The party is being ravaged. The nation will not brook the disgrace of its mandate any longer. The Parliament will have to be strengthened. The decisions should be such that they should not reflect the dictation but the feelings of the people.''

Why we as a nation are allowing Zardari the most corrupt & with him the deal maker Musharraf to destroy our country.There agenda is to serve their masters to remain in power to plunder.We have to really raise against them that we are not cattles to see all this which is destroying our country.Our nation itself also responsible for all this we are always chosing the dacoits,plunderers & proved corrupts as a leaders in persian they say"Khud karda ra la ilaaj e naist" what we have done wrong we should correct it as a nation to prove that we are not dead nation.

Some people in Pakistan are failed person in the politics but still live in limelight . They just give opnions, They never enjoyed a political post. In their old profession they were successful but not shown any fairplay, ann honesty, and obedience of rules and regulation. Hamid Gul, Imran Khan and many more are like those genleman. Please donot give them importance, because it is very easy to comment, it is very difficult to face in groud.

You mean those in a driving seat (the one in power) are the successfull people.Pitty for this nation where lot of proven corrupt & un elected people have a say in Pakistan politics.Zardari came in a lime light from the blue,how did he make everyone with brain knows.
