Geo Should be BANNED

whether banned or not our media needs to stop its propaganda of gaining cheap publicity by brain washing people. It also needs to stop creating fake hypes just to get viewership ! we dont want to see dead bodies after a blast on live television !! instead of helping the victims they choose to stand on their heads to take pictures !.

It is our ttrial to discuss and bring about topics that are overly exaggerated or dubbed by our media !

I agree Geo is banned, they spread fake bad news.

Any one who wants Geo should be banned are the friend of Musharraf.

As a Pakistani channel, Geo has so many positive aspects. One of which, people all around the world like to see it. However, in current situation, my opinion is, that GEO should be stopped from doing wrong thing and must emphasize on thinking through each and every news and its impact on future of Pakistan. Nowadays, GEO is acting like a commercial channel, trying only to blackmail politicians and Government (I'm not saying that government or these idiot politicians are doing everything right), and this way GEO is not caring about global image of Pakistan and Pakistanis.

As a famous Pakistani channel, there comes greater responsibility on GEO to act like a mature TV channel and help the country to stabilize its political environment rather that making fun of the situation and showing funny skits about serious events. Usually, Its discussion forums have anchors acting like a person who tries to make people fight with each other, rather than finding a solution. They think that this way they can provide people better ENTERTAINMENT..

I am not a supporter to BAN Geo, but if GEO continues its immature and commercial attitude.. IT SHOULD BE BANNED!!!

It may be right that GEO put down some authority in some interviews or laid quiet when other media was attacking, but it sure has a feeling of authenticity.
On Western media channels whenever there is some one dies in an accident caused by the term called terrorist attacks.. they show the history of the person, a short story on the life of the person..
We should also show the people who were killed by the terrorists attacks anywhere in Pakistan.. we should also show the lives of people lost..short history as they were living with family who were dependent on them, with pictures of the deceased.
that way media would also potray strong influence on people that the person killed was a living life and not a sack of hay.

we need to love our people and our assets and our lives. and there is nothing but media who can convince its audience.

GEO should not be banned because its a source of information and entertainment but these channel should have responsibilities and channel should not be promote anti pakistani views and these type of other material

I think it should be banned as it is the source of disharmony and tension in the society

I personally dont like there programs in which they invite so called islamic scholars and have them proclaim basic rules and regulation of Islam to be opposit of what they actually are and being practice since the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) age. Basically they are trying to prove Haram prohibit acts as Halal and legitimate and jaiz.

I think Geo is much better than ARY. Of course I am seeing from Drama point of view and somewhere I think we should be like western countries and dont ban channels.

I agree that GEO should be banned as everytime instead of a constructive approach, they make the things worse. Every incident they cover, it is highlighted to its peak to let the world know what insanity is here. India has much worse problems but no one cares. Here in our country it is presented like its the end of the world.

media in this age is the most powerful medium. its what keeps every one honest and put the them to close scrutamny of public. i beleive one positive thing tht came out of musharraf gov is the freedm of speech and power of media.. i knw that it did come up and bit him on his a.. aswell which he might have regreted.. but its a one way street wats done cannot be reversed.. the cat is out of the box and i think no one can stop the power of media now

No i dont think that any news channel should be banned, because if media is banned then information will be on hold and no one can knew what is going around.

Media is reponsible for providing all the necessary information and statistics to the viewer so that they can make the right decision. If Geo is spending too much time on giving opinions, it doesnt help the cause. At this crucial stage, media does need to be regulated so that it can drive people of pakistan towards a common ground./
