Free TV Guide
Here is the secret to watching all the tv you want. This guide will range from price to setup instructions and software specifications as well

1. What do i need?

In order to setup everything some hardware is obviosuly required. Fom my experience it should cost you around USD 380-400 ($550 - 600 optional)in total to setup everything. Turst me, it is worth it

Equipment Required:

Dreambox - This is the reciever. You can get it off ebay for $200 max. be sure you get a Dreambox 500 S if you do. If you have extra cash then get a higher version for better performance. This one works well though

Satelltie Dish and Motor - The dish size should be around 80-85cm with a Motor. You should get a Diseqc Motor. Say that to the guy in the shop and he will know what you're saying. Also get coaxial cable required to connect the motor to your reciever and obvisouly connectors. Should cost you no more than $180.

Now if you want you can setup the motor and dish youself. That would mean a nice sunny sunday and you go upto your roof, assemble the dish with the motor as instructed in the mannuals. Or else you can get professional help and get someone to do it for you. They normally charge $150 to fix a dish with a motor.

2. Where should the dish point?

Normally you would see the dish on other houses pointing towards a specific direction. Like in the UK the dish fo BSkyB point towards 28.2 East. So you can use your areas dish direction as a starting point. Normally if you get a dish installed, they get the direction sorted for you.

3. What do i do with the dreambox?

The dreambox is the main machine in the whole system. Firstly you need to have an image on the box. An image is basically the interface for the box. So whatever you press on your remote control, the image makes it work. THat means volume control, picture settings, channel searching etc.

The best image that i have found is Gemini. Just google Gemini Image for dm500 or dreambox 500 and you will find loads of download links.

Download the image to your desktop. Now in order to transfer the image to your box you will require an RS232 cable (Serial Cable) whish should cost $10-15 and ideally has 9 pins at both ends. We will use it to connect the box to your computer.

4. Now what?

Now is the software part of the system which is essential to get the encrypted channels. Initially one also needs to know how to add the image to the dreambox. The dreambox is essentially Linux based so we need a software to transfer the image know as Dreamflash. Once again, google it and you should find it easily. The second part of the guide will be made on demand if someone actually wants to know the rest......

All the channels can be viewed guaranteed without any further expenses. Did you like it?

Is DreamBox basically an FTA Receiver?

If not, what is the difference between an FTA receiver and the Dreambox equipment?

Thanks for the information.
