force marriage

it's very common now, to force someone to marry, .. and mostly parents do that.. They do emtional blackmail and says to their children they have to get marry with someone they have choosed.. I agree parents think good whatever they do for their children.. But to force someone, it'r not good..

According to hadith: Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas:

A virgin came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and mentioned that her father had married her against her will, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) allowed her to exercise her choice.

{Book 11, Number 2091 : Sunan Abu Dawud}

When islam does not allow us to force somebody why should we???. who are we who can force?. Islam is not force-religion.. its a very easy religion..

very true sister.
islam has never mentioned on a single place to force anyone. it is clear that islam makes it mendatory to know the consent of boy or girl.
it is our own so-called traditions that is behind all these thinkings and activities.

Islam strikes a balance between the maturity of old and exuberance of young. A girl can only be married with the consent of her WALI, but then the wali has a greater obligation to respect the wish of bride.
There is no room for Zor and Zabardasti, only Allah can guide us (if we seek the guidance) to cut away from our so called cultural influences.
