Flour crisis worsening

KARACHI: Only a few shops were partially open on Sunday for a short duration in block M of North Nazimabad Town, Sindhi Hotel in New Karachi Town, and Samanabad in Gulberg Town but flour was not available at these shops. Shopkeepers told Daily Times that due to the non-availability of transport and closure of the wholesale market such as Jodia Bazaar, the stock of food grains and flour has been exhausted.

In other areas of the city, flour was being sold at Rs 28 per kg. The reason for the higher rate was said to be the higher prices wholesalers were charging to retailers.

Although, the price of sugar per kg had initially been decreased from Rs 26 to Rs 24, it was sold for Rs 28 per kg on Sunday. A shopkeeper in block M of North Nazimabad told Daily Times that he was only able to purchase a couple of 100 kg bags for which he had to pay an extra premium of Rs 180 as compared to the prices last week.

this is not ny 1 else that is us no 1 will say that musharaf has done that or some otiher has done but other countries say that in pakistan flour prices just shoot up this is our disgrace we even dnt knw hw 2 get iur right
all the government officials are the paid servants of the public coz public pay tax they provide them the agriculture and industry so it is our responsibility special the youth if they still dnt pland their future may b v lost our next generation
coz last 15 to 20 years our youth is involvd in othr typs of activities they use drugs as well so this is the time ma brothers and sisters ALLAH has givn us a chance so b ready and take brave stance to face a little hardship as our elders took in 1947 believe me country's condition is more worst than 1947
so firstly we hav 2 creat some awareness in our illetrate ppl who dnt knw wass the rit way who r doin these blasts nd all the terrorism that v ruinin our own properties if pakistan doesnt exist wat will b ur identity
