This is going to be my 1st post ever. Music plays a big role in our life and specially in mine and I love Pakistan Sufi-Rock-Underground music. Its the kind of a music that just strikes me and excites me as well.
Coming to the point, listen to the lyrics properly in many songs by Junoon - Jal in boondh - Noorie - Aaroh
Aaroh gives a message clear cut that u can have borders on land but there cant be any border in the land of heart!!
Which song is it? Any guesses?
Junoon has plenty of songs like Jaanay tu, Dharti Kay Khuda, Bulleya, ALeph, Saqi Nama, etc etc alot of songs in 11 albums. All convey a similar message.
Lyrics have been a basic fundamental here in music. Have you noticed in songs where they use "Kalaam" of Sufi Poets specially BABA BULLEH SHAH there is a different everygy level in artist which is rare to find in any of his other work?
Rabbi Shergill came up with his treatment of "Bulleya" by Junoon in Parvaaz, as "Bulla Ki Jana Main Kaun?" Still the energy was there as Rabbi's version was a pleasing one and Junoon's was a charger one.
"Rabba Sachya" and "Mae Nai" in Atif's new album took me almost 6-7 months 1st to give it a try then heard these 2 songs and googled for lyrics and trust me the treat is worth the search.
Chaiyan Chaiyan from Dil Se... - OST is one of his poems.
So Lets Share all the info we can about this great Sufi poet

No doubt kay Bullay Shah ka kalam waqai mai lafzoon mai jaan dal daytay hain because mainay kai bar jo onhon nay likha hay para hoa hay kafi acha likhtay thay woh. Or mazay ki baat yah kay kai bar kafi ander ki gahri baatain kar jatay hain woh
