Azad Kashmir also observes Solidarity Day
MIRPUR: Solidarity Day, like all across the country, is also being observed at the Divisional Headquarter of Azad Kashmir here with the renewed resolve that the struggle would continue until the achievement of the right of self determination.
On this occasion, one-minute silence was observed in memory of the martyrs of held Kashmir under the aegis of National Ceremonies Committee at the Municipal Corporation Lawn here.
Different political, social, government and non-government organizations, student and trade organizations took out a rally on Allama Iqbal Road, which turned into a public meeting at the ‘Chowk Shaheedan’ here. Speakers on this occasion urged upon the world community to play their role for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir conflict.

Kashmir Solidarity Day: rally taken out in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: A rally to observe the Kashmir Solidarity Day was taken out here on Tuesday from Milad Chawk.
Azad Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference NWFP office-bearers, City District Nazim Haji Ghulam Ali and other citizens participated the rally with participants raising slogans to express solidarity with the Kashmiris.
The rally demanded the world powers to solve the Kashmir issue in agreement with the UN resolutions.
Stringent security measures were taken up on the occasion. The rally routed through Ashraf Road to Naz cinema Road, where a ceremony was organized at the house of a former Kashmiri minister.
Speaking on the occasion, the orators paid rich homage to the Kashmiris on their sacrifices and expressed the resolve to always side with Kashmiris in their cause for freedom.

Kashmiris would soon get their dream come true: Owais Ghani
PESHAWAR: NWFP Governor, Owais Ahmad Ghani has said that Pakistan on the struggle of the Kashmiris salutes them and added that the day was not far, when the Kashmiris would get their right of self determination and their dream would come true.
NWFP Governor was addressing a ceremony on Kashmir Day here, which was attended by NWFP caretaker Chief Minister, Shamsul Mulk, provincial ministers, high government and civil officials, school students and a large number of tribesmen.
Governor Owais Ghani said that Pakistan wanted Kashmir issue resolved under UN resolutions and in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiris. He said that the people of Kashmir were being exploited and no opportunity of tormenting them spiritually was spared. He further said that President Pervez Musharraf initiated improving ties and holding peace talks, but India has now shifted from its stand.
Caretaker Chief Minister, Shamsul Mulk on this occasion said that Kashmir was the jugular vein of Pakistan and underscored the need of resolving on this Solidarity Day that Pakistan would continue supporting the Kashmiris struggle for freedom and their stand for the peaceful resolution of the issue. Later, prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir were also offered on this occasion.
