| 530 students enrolled under free education programme |
|
Islamabad, The Ministry of Education under its free quality education programme for Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (Fata) and Balochistan has enrolled 530 students.
This programme has been initiated by the Ministry for students of Fata and Balochistan to provide them maximum opportunities of free and quality education at a cost of Rs480 million, Assistant Director of the programme, Ejaz-ur-Rehman.
He said that under the project called ‘Pakistan Management Unit (PMU)’ full-funded scholarships are awarded to talented students from class 8 to 12 of Balochistan to get admission in reputed cadet and technical colleges of the country.
Elaborating, he added, the number of fully-funded scholarships for admission to cadet colleges was being increased from 40 to 80 for Fata students and from 60 to 150 for Balochistan.
The Fata students included 80 studying at cadet colleges and 180 in technical colleges while Balochistan’s included 120 students those admitted to Cadet colleges and 250 were in technical institutions of the country, he revealed.
